For students who have taken beginning pottery, and want to take on methods for creating bigger vessels like vases, mixing bowls, and more! Teaching resident artist Ethan Arias will take students through his techniques for handling larger amounts of clay to create forms that are bigger and taller! This will include methods like centering larger pieces to throw larger from the start, and even throwing coils to extend the reach of your starting vessel. Learning to throw large is excellent skill building for any potter looking to up their game and polish their skills. Techniques learned will be helpful for throwing at large scale, but will also help grow understanding of thrown pottery as a whole.
